Take leisurely walks around the expansive 2-acre property (example) that is scattered about with large granite outcroppings and listen to the whispering pine, cedar and oak trees. Meander down to the babbling creek with waterfalls (located on the property about 500 yards away), or large meadow; be on the alert for a covey of quail or the occasional grazing deer. Spend sun-kissed days and star-lit nights in a quiet locale that is destined to become your home-away-from-home.

This secluded and very private property in the town of Ahwahnee (3 miles northwest of Oakhurst & 12 miles from Bass Lake) is your own peaceful sanctuary, away from the tourists that you will meet in nearby Yosemite Valley about an hour away.

But you won't let the crowds keep you from exploring Yosemite's wonderful valley. Begin your adventure at the Mariposa Grove of giant redwoods located at the southern entrance to Yosemite 30 minutes away, close enough by car when you feel like exploring the park and its spectacular surroundings. Or take the 55 mile drive up the all-weather Scenic Highway 140 which winds along the beautiful Merced River to the northern Arch Rock entrance to Yosemite Valley.

On the way to Yosemite is the historic Sugar Pine Railway with its' steam locomotives. Take a ride on The Logger, stay for dinner and enjoy their show. Be adventurous and make a reservation with Zephyr Whitewater for white water rafting on the Merced or Tuolumne Rivers in the spring and summer.

Bring your fishing pole, boat, wave runner or jet ski (or rent one at the local marina) and have a glorious day on pristine Bass Lake 20 minutes away, picnicking and enjoying water sports—or venture out to any number of lakes nearby. For the golfers, River Creek Golf Course is a public, nine-hole coursewhere you can rent a golf cart & hit the links for $20/day. Sierra Meadows Ranch Country Club is a semi-prive 18-hole golf course that has just undergone a $2 million renovation. Both courses are located just minutes away.

Take a day-trip up Highway 49 to explore numerous old gold rush-era towns. Visit the charming and historic town of Mariposa 30 minutes northwest: see a working stamp mill with old mining equipment, historic museums, buildings, carriages & wagons. And remember, Chukchansi Gold Casino is only 20 minutes south if you're feeling lucky or want to enjoy a concert!
